About me

AH_photoI am an editor with 13 years’ experience at a national paper, doing everything from producing magazines to writing front-page headlines. I like a challenge.

As a freelance editor, my focus is on working with established and fledgling designers and publication houses to produce knitting patterns and collections, though I also take on non-specialist editorial projects.

Born in Cheltenham, I came to London in 1996 to study Anthropology & Linguistics at UCL, then worked at a bookshop (Waterstones Piccadilly), a book publisher (Granta), a magazine publisher (Hill Publishing), and a newspaper (Guardian News & Media), and now live in Harringay, north London. My two children sometimes wear handknitted clothes, and after those clothes are accidentally felted, the teddy bears get them.

If you’d like to know more about my professional skills rather than laundry failings, have a read of my Hire me page. And if you like the sound of that, Contact me.
